My
Fellow Lions,
It is really hard to believe that March is here and spring is
just around the corner (I hope)!
This
year has really flown by. My presidency is two-thirds of the way
through and still so much left to do!
As you all know, we'll soon be getting into our really busy season.
I've sent all of you a calendar of events. If possible, please
try to make yourself available to work our fund-raising events.
Times are hard for a lot of people right now, and it is more important
than ever that we keep raising the money so that we may help those
in need.
Shepherd's Care is in dire need of food donations. We will be
doing a food drive and I ask that each of you bring your donations
to the next meeting if you are unable to take them to Shepherd's
Care yourself. I know that it often seems our club is called on
to do a lot. Our contributions are important, but still just a
very small part of what is needed. If you will talk with others
in the area, there are a lot of contributions going on from other
organizations and individuals. There are many people doing a lot
of good things. Let's be sure that this community is aware that
our club is very much in the forefront of helping.
Our Charter Night will be March 25th. Our District Governor, Marti
Hill, has agreed to come down and visit with us again. Please
come out and join us in this Celebration. Lion Clark and Lion
Elise will have a great plan for us, I'm sure.
Lion Elise will present a plan for us to participate in the Gorge
Sidewalk Sale. We will be needing donations, and all profits will
go to our Club. She'll be needing people to help, so mark your
calendars. The date is April 24 from 8 a.m to 4 p.m. Dig through
your attic and basement so that we can get some really good "stuff"
out there.
We will be visiting the McCune Center Tuesday, March 9th. If you
want to attend and haven't signed up, let Lion Elise know. This
should be a lot of fun and we'll get to see the great work that
Lion Donna and several of our other members have done with the
refurbishing project.
Thanks to all of you. Your work is important.
Yours in Lionism,
Diane
